Interpreting your BMI

Until you work out what your BMI (Body Mass Index) means in terms of being a healthy weight, it's just a number. When it's turned into a description of your weight, however, you know whether to increase or decrease your DI of energy.

Body Mass Index (BMI) Weight Status
Below 20 Underweight
> 20-25 Normal
> 25-30 Overweight
> 30 Obese

These values are sourced from the Australian Government's "Healthy Active" website.

If your BMI is greater than 25, you may need to alter your energy balance.
